The serologic and clinical manifestation of infection with Mycoplasma pneumoniae were studied in children during the three years from October 1979 to December 1981. Pneumonia was diagnosed in 107 of the 430 patients with lower respiratory tract infections; mycoplasma pneumonia was diagnosed in 52 of these 107 (20 males and 32 females aged one to 14 years).
